National Day of Prayer

National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer exists to mobilize unified public prayer for America.

National Unity Weekend has partnered with National Day of Prayer 2024, inviting people to observe the day and pray for the nation locally, state-wide and federally on the first Thursday of May of each year. This day was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman.

This day exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families.

Each year, local, state, and federal observances are held from sunrise to sunset throughout the nation and Washington D.C., uniting Americans from all socio-economic, political and ethnic backgrounds in prayer for our nation.

On Thursday, May 2nd, find a local gathering near you and watch the 2024 Livestream at 8:00 PM EST.
